Prison Record
Their grude came to its climax Sunday when they met in Julietta's main kitchen and Mr. Eads was stabbed. Mr. Thomas has a criminal record of nine arrests and three convictions, sheriff's deputies said.
He was sentenced in 1943 to one to 10 years in the State Prison for burglary. Other sentences were 180 days on the Stite Farm (offense not stated on sheriff's records) and 10 days in jail for petit larceny. Asked why the stabhing was not reported for almost a full day, Supt. Barrett replied: “It was just a little flareup and I didn't think it was necessary to BROT Hb INRA AK STORER 1 DRT TUE BITE E or we os Mr. Barrett said the fight was not unusual at Julietta. He =aid the Home had similar incidents ‘once or twice last fall.”
Locked One Up
“We can't watch these fellows all the time,” he said. "It's a wonder we don't have more of this type of thing.” Although Mr. Barrett first reported the two men as inmates, he said later that Mr. Eads was a paid ward attendant and Mr Thomas was a part-time em-
« playee.
Asked yesterday whether any disciplinary action would be taken Mr. Barrett said he had “locked Thomas in a cell for a few hours” after the stabbing. “But.l don’t think I will: fire either one '' he said. vesterdawv.
“Anyway, who would I get to replace them?” Mr. Barrett also reported in-

What Makes
Indiana
Different’
You say you're a native of Indiana. Or maybe you are an adopted “Hooster. You're proud of this great state and the fact that you live in it. But just what is it that makes Indiana different?
Is it the good rich soil of our farmlands? Is it the industrial power packed in our great cities? Is it our prise cattle that won the blue . ¢ - ribbons at our State Fair last month?
Partly that. But something more, too!
The main thing that makes Indiana different is told in just one word: People! The open-hearted, open-minded, home-loving, countryloving, friendly, loyal people of Indiana!
They are what give our state its unique character. They are what make our farmlands prosper... our cities thrive.
And they are what make Kingan the company it is.
Here at Kingan you'll find 3,700 people like you and the fellow who lives next door. Hoosiers to the core. And they're working full
time at the job of bringing you the finest quality, finest tasting meat products in the world.
It pays to do things “Indiana style.” That's why the Kingan payroll today amounts to more than a million dollars a month. And that’s why, some day, it'll be many times more than that.
Kingan has built its business by giving honest value... of producing the finest quality meat products at reasonable prices... of checking and double checking for unvarying excellence in every pound | of fresh, canned, and smoked meat.
And because we're proud to be Indiana folks doing things the Indiana way, you can be sure our 90-year record of excellence will never change.
This year, next year, and all the years to come Kingan will keep on delivering the kind of values in meat that has made Kingan a respected name throughout Indiana .. . throughout America!
