Big Beer Strike Drying Up Bars In St.Louis

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 19 (UP)—Nary, 4 a drop of beer ‘was brewed in St. j Louis today as strikes shut down all four of. the city’s breweries. Bars imposed a -six-to-a-customer ration on bottled beer and a few taverns turned off their draft beer spigots. ] The supply was running so Tow, ! that a downtown liquor store re- § fused to sell beer to “strangers.” The situation reached a parching crisis yesterday when 2500 workers at three breweries joined the 5000 who were already on strike at the huge Anheuser- | Busch plant. 2
