'He Babbled Incoherently’—

Madman Clubs Family Of Four in Detroit

DETROIT, Oct. 18 (UP) — A swarthy gnomish “madman” clubbed an expectant mother, two teen-age daughters and her hus-! band in their home early today, attacked another man and woman and broke into a second house during a maniacal orgy. Clarence Wrouble, 43, was serfously injured fighting off the attacker, who broke into his home through a bathroom window. His eldest daughter, Charlotte, 186, underwent X-rays to determine her injuries. Mrs. Violet Wrouble, 35, who is expecting her ninth child next month, and another daughter, Patricia, 14, were treated for cuts and bruises and released from Receiving Hospital, Prowler Seared Off A half hour before hreaking into the Wrouble home, the same man apparently entered a house three blocks away hut was scared off hy Harold Moore, after scooping up a purse containing $8. Twenty minutes after the two break-ins, a man of similar description tried to drag Willis + Assad, 35, and &¥ woman companion from a car parked along a main thoroughfare. Wrouble was hit several times, Clubber Lost Weapon The noise awakened Mr Wrouble, asleep in a bedroom at the rear of the house. The club ber lost his weapon scuffing with Mr. Wrouble, a laborer with a wrecking company, hut seriously injured him. Mr. Wrouble broke two chairs swinging them at the intruder, before being knocked unconscious. Mrs. Wrouble said the man wrestled with her when she tried to telephone police, and then suddenly fled through the front door. “He kept babbling incoherently,” Mrs. Wrouble was quoted as saying by: Police Sgt. John Morin. “He was just like a maniac.’
