Gov. Schricker has proclaimed the week of Nov. 4 as National Beauty Salon Week in Indiana. “Dedi-
cated - to the grooming of women to greater beauty,” the Governor's proclamation mentioned that the “beauty industry contributes immeasurably to mental and physical well being of persons it serves.” Witnesses of the signing of the proclamation were Mrs. Mary Koerner of Marion, pres-
ident of the Indiana Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Association, and Mrs. Ruth
Taylor of Terre Haute, public relations chairman. During the week of Nov. 4 an educational and philanthropie program will be carried on throughout the state, Mrs. Koerner said. In several vicinities hairdressers will arange to give hair-dos to women in hospitals, homes for the aged and other institutions. National and state cosmetologists’ associations are sponsoring the observance to further information on professional } beauty care.
