Can You Outwit a Drop of Water?,

The average drop of water will go to a lot of trouble to get in under the linoleum counter covering around a sink and rot the

stuff out. Your special job is to outsmart that drop of water which ig not as easy as it might sound. First, make sure that the cdunter is wiped dry after use and don't let little puddles ‘of water' stan®®around for even a few minutes. One of the most

likely spots for water to get under the. linoleum is around the edges and these can made waterproof by removing the metal molding and packing caulking compound into the recess in them. Reset the molding and wipe away any of the excess compound that oozes out from the joint, If the sink faucet assembly resis on the counter make sure that the faucet doesn’t drip. New washers and packing under the cap nut will do the trick here. If the faucet ha: a movable nozzle e<sure that the packing here is tight enough to prevent leakage It's a good idea to remove the collar or base of the faucet assembly and, pack this with caulking compound so that water can’t seep in around the edges and get

him, Take these blond finishes you find today such as limed oak, silver oak and the rest. These begin by bleaching out the wood with a wood bleach. These bleaches lighten the color of the wood fibers and you can get almost any shade you desire through repeated applications of fhe bleaching compound. Once the wood is bleached to the desired shade, a coat of transparent lacquer or shellac is applied. This is a very thin coating and serves to protect the wood fibers from being darkened by the
