For Bill Dowling, Ex-Big Leaguer
Bill Dowling; who played second hase for the (Chicago White Sox hefore World War I, will be buried Tuesday in Holy Cross Cemetery, Services will be held at 9:30 a. m. Tuesday from Blackwell's Funeral Home and at 10 a. m. in; SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Mr. Dowling was 66 when he died Friday night in his apartment at 510 N. Meridian St. Born in Indianapolis, he attended St. John's School. He also plaved ball for Atkins and Marmon in the heyday of semipro teams sponsored by local firms, Mr. Dowling began and ended his professional baseball career in the minor loops, starting in the Western League, ending in the Pacific Coast I.eague. Newspaperman Dies ! NOBLESVILLE. Ind, Oct 13
| {UP)— Edward E. Neal, 87, prominent Indiana R=zpublican politi cian and newspaperman, died today.
{ For 35 years, he was associated
with The Lebanon Reporter, The {Frankfort Crescent News and The Noblesville Ledger and Enterprise, and was editor of the late iter paper. Mr. Neal served several terms lin the Indiana legislature and was with the Internal Revenues Buereau in the late 1920's. He also was a GOP congressional nominee in 1910 and later was his party's candidate for state au ditor.
