Richmond faces Marion later, which could be a delicate assignment. Tech and Richmond are deadlocked at 3-0 in the loop race. A stalemate between the Green

“RUBE” LIKED TO CALL IN the out- + fielders while he fanned a batter just to show he could do it. One day in 1902, in an exhibition game where league rules were not enforced, ‘“Rube’’ pulled his wackiest stunt. In the last half of the ninth, he sent all the players off the field, leaving only the catcher behind the plate. Then, with magnificent arrogance, Waddell struck out the next three men on nine pitches! “Rube” may have been a ‘“‘character,” but he was a great champion!

EVEN THOSE hot Giants weren't satisfied with their team at the end of the most amazing stretch run in history. They're interested in additional outfield and catching strength, and maybe getting a fellow lined up to replace veteran Eddie Stanky at second base. Meanwhile, the runner-up Dodgers may get that long sought-for starting pitcher from the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds are hot after a shortstop and a left-fielder. They'd like to have Dodger utility men Bobby Morgan or Rocky Bridges for shortstop, and they think Cal o Abrams would become a .300 hitter if he played left field for them regularly. In exchange, the Dodgers would like to get Ewell Blackwell but might be more than happy to settle for Howie Fox or Herman Wehmeier, both strongarmed hurlers. A lot of business is being done with tall talk over tall glasses, But not much of it will be announced for a while.

give you...plus the zip, control, and savings that cars with automatic gears con give you.
The automatic drive some cors offer you is a torque converter which multiplies torque without the vse of gears. Is advantage is a smooth flow of power. Its disadvantage is a smaller ronge of torque multiplication which requires more power from the engine and on uneconomical axle ratio. Naturally this increases operating costs.
Other cars offer on owlomatic drive that wes oulomotic gears (os illustrated in simplified form of right) instead of a torque converter. The advantage here is more "go," more contror and greater economy. The disadvantage is that this system is not as smooth, nor es jerk-free as « torque converter.

Yes, Fordomatic has a torque converter plus automatic geors, It brings you only the advantages of both drives ond elimi« nates the disadvantages.
