Herbert C. Lewis, union leader and Indianapolis Star compositor, will be buried in Memorial Park 4fter services at 2 p. m, Wednesday in the Stirling Funeral Home. Mr. Lewis, who lived at 6511 Homestead Dr.. Homecroft, and was 65 years old, died last night after a year's illness. He had been in the printing trade for 50 years, Born in Peru, he came to Indianapolis in 1903 from Logansport, where he had worked as a printer. At one time he had his own shop fn Indianapolis. During the first World War he joined the faculty and served as printing plant superintendent at Indiana University, ‘He then worked for a year on the Franklin Star before returning to Indianapolis in 1924. For 25 years he was employed by the Indianapolis Star,

Wood, admitted in a statement that for 18 months he had been taking money from the station accounts but always had succeeded in replacing it before his books were audited. He was arrested Friday when found in possession of a letter placed in the mails by postal authorities. He also had in his possession a marked $1 bill. Mr. ‘Wood said inspectors succeeded in recovering the total of $5.75 also stolen from the mails but spent by Sipf.
