SEVERAL TIMES since Saturday's game we have been
asked the question, “why the

First of all, the formation isn't brand new as it has been used before, and secondly we did not employ it because
we are any less sold on the “T” -

spacing and play is exactly the same as in the “T” formation. The difference comes in the back-| field. We number our backs one,! two, three and four and that is the way they line up directly behind the center in the basic formation. . The quarterback is number one, the left halfback number two, the fullback number. three and the right halfback number. four. This alignment can be altered by the quarterback to suit the particular type of play he plans to run. 1 doubt seriously that we will ever use it much more than we did last Saturday, which was four or five times, but it is an added asset to mix in when the quarterback has difficulty - in cracking the enemy defense.
