Mr. Muzzy Executes a Siugeis Play
Who said Mr. Muzzy couldn't execute a squeeze play? He did it in this hand. Trouble was, he squeezed his own pagtner. This ' is how it happened. Through a slight miscalculation in the bidding Miss Brash got into a small slam at spades with only a seven card trump suit. Six no tfump would have been a more desirable contract.
2 = ” L MR. MUZZY opened the six of clubs and dummy'’s
The ace of clubs was cashed and then Miss Brash took her three top spades, hoping for a 3-3 break. Unfortunately, that left Mr. Muzzy with a sure spade winner. Correctly enough, Miss Brash now decided to lose the spade at once and Mr. Muzzy was in with the jack, a small ‘heart being discarded from the board.
At this point there was only
one lead to beat the contract. That was a heart. It would have removed the last entry from
jack won.
