>The grand jury today indicted nine men for sex crimes, ‘including five cases involving child victims. Jack Delwin Blount, 31, of 1027 8. State Ave. is charged with rape and sodomy. At the. -request of Deputy Prosecutor John Tinder, Blount was held under $22,000 bond because of the’ seriousness of the charges.

Monroe Starks, 50, of Boulevard Pl, previously victed "of a sex crime, charged with sodomy. Similar Charge

Starks was convicted on a similar charge June 18 this year by Judge Saul I. Rabb, Criminal

Court 2, and fined $500. Because of the previous conviction, Judge: Rabb asked the

prosecutor's office to prosecute Starks under the 1949 Sex Crimfinals law, which provides for treatment as a sexual psychopath. Starks was held under $10,000 bond. Cola Howard Patterson, 26, of 616 E. Vermont St., was charged with the Aug. 12 rape of a near North Side woman. Robert Daniel Perry, 24, now back in the Indiana Reformatory! as a parole violator, was charged with first-degree burguary and rape for the June 27 attack on a woman after he cut out the screen of her apartment window.

Three Are Fugitives

Three other men indicted for rape were listed as fugitives and their names were withheld pend-| ing their arrest. | Louis William Reed, 31, of 712 N. Haugh St., was charged with] sodomy. : oo Robert Royce Polston, 19, of] 1909 Carrollton Ave., was in-| dicted for assault and battery] with intent to commit sodomy. * | Other indictments by the grand, Jury included: { William Bolin, alias Perk| Bolin, 36, of 1750 W. Washington St.,, first degree murder in the Aug. 9 fatal shooting of Vergie Sears. Charles A. Groover, 31, of 928 Broadway, grand larceny in the theft of $1351.89 from the Drexel Ice Cream Co. July 23. Dorothy Gentry, 40, of 614 N. East St., embezzlement of $287.39 from the Railway Express Agency, where she was employed. In all the grand jury indicted 21 persons and returned nine no bills.
