2 Held Here Admit 18 Burglaries Netting $10,000
Two men held here for burglarizing a U. 8. postal substation confessed yesterday to 18 grocery and gasoline station break-ins netting $10,000, police said. Held in Marion County jail on $5000 bond each on federal charges for the postal burglary at Tobler's. Hardware Aug. 24, Fugene Eaton. 19, of 685!; N. Beville Ave., and Rudy Anthony Buitron, 21, Linden Hotel, confessed to 10 South and East Side burglaries in the city. They also told state police of three burglaries in Marion County outside the city, three in Johnson County and two in Morgan County. The pair implicated Eaton's brother, Edwin, 23, in the breakins. Edwin Eaton is*held in Chicago under $10,000 bond. He and his wife, Wanda, 20, were arrested there when they tried to cash a stolen money order. Fugene Eaton and Buitron were picked up in New Ross by state police after they flashed large sums of money. Police said it was theft loot, which also included cigarets, guns and flashy cars for get-aways, Police recovered a gun stolen at the postal substation along with 170 postal money orders, $100 in stamps,- $40 in bills, undetermined amount of silver, and fishing equipment. Born in LaGrange’ he came to Indianapolis 32 years ago. He was a registered pharmacist 53 vears before retiring in May. He was a member of University Park Christian Church and the Sons of the Revolution. Surviving are his wife, Mrs, Pearl E.; two sons, John D, Louisville, and Harold James, Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Maurice Wilcox, Sheridan, Wyo.; two nieces and a nephew.
