SHOULD high school girls _date servicemen? Martha Shortridge, Phyllis

Goebel and Marilyn Jo Crook all say yes, depending on the circumstances, of course. “It ‘depends on whether you're properly introduced,” says

Marilyn. - “How you meet them determines whether it's all right,” says Phyllis. Martha says she doesn’t approve of pickups and Marilyn

with her. “You feel sorry “for the boys

who appear to be roaming the streets with nothing to do and no friends,” says Phyllis, “but you don't know how you can help them without getting yourself involved in something.” “If relatives introduce you, then I'd say it is ail right,” added Marilyn, a senior at Washington High School in the fall. “Parents should always meet a serviceman,” believes Phyllis. “Then they can judge whether he’s OK or, got. They usually can tell pretty quick.” The trio settled on a list of several places where girls might meet servicemen legitimately. They include the Servicemen’'s Center and churches. “Sometimes when you write to a man in the service; he suggests you write to other fellows there. If you know he's OK, then it might be safe to write to his friends, on a purely friendly basis, of course.’ | Phyllis, a senior at Sacred Heart High School, is the | daughtér of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert F.
