been compounded by the loss of these territories. More than six million Japanese have been re-
patriated from these former pos-!
sessions since the war's end. | One solution to the problem. some experts believe, is birth con-| trol. But when Gen. MacArthur] initiated birth control studies, he ran into stiff religious opposition and stopped the experiment. No Place for Them All Many Japanese favor emigration to less developed areas and they look especially to New Guinea and South America. They also hope —as a matter of national pride—for the U. 8. to set at least a small quota for Japanese immigrants, The plain fact is, however, that there is no place in the world which could take care of all of Japan's surplus population. And if there were such a place, there is no assurance the Japanese would emigrate in any numbers.
Excitement Kills Hunter After He Bags Deer
HOLLISTER, Cal, Aug. 28 (UP) —Deer Hunter E. E. Butterfield, 54, had the good luck to shoot a buck in the hills, but the excitement cost him his life. His body was found in a brush thicket Sunday night after a search of several hours. Nearby was lying the carcass of a deer. Authorities said Mr. Butterfield apparently died of a heart attack brought on by excitement.
