Diabetes-Testfing Machine at Fair

A new machine capable of giving 120 blood-sugar tests for diabetes every hour will be in operation at the State Board of Health Building during the Indiana State Fair,

Health officials hope at least 20,000 persons.

“If 20,000 are tested,” Dr. W. C. Anderson, director of the State Health Board's division of chronic diseases, said “today, “about 600 will show sugar in the blood above normal. may be due to a large amount of food eaten shortly before the test or to a diabetic condition. They will be urged to see their family doctor for further tests to determine If. they have diabetes.”

Dr. Anderson emphasized that serious illness or death may be prevented by discovering diabetes early enough.
