By United Prom At least 10 major forest fires, aided by high tempera and low humidity, raged through tin-der-dry forests in California, Oregon and Washington today. The fire danger in the Pacific Northwest was said to be the worst in three decades, Forestry officials banned logging in Western Oregon for the duration of the dry spell and an earlier logging ban imposed in Washington was extended until tomorrow midnight. The principal fires in Oregon + burned over 5000 acres of timber near: the old Smith River burn in Northwestern Douglas County, and 300 acres of timber on Hubbard Creek 20 miles northwest of Roseburg.
