are lucky enough to know that they are fun to go after. { The bullhead has been the “first| fish” for many an angler in short | pants. By other names the bullhead is known as the black catfish, brown catfish, the bullpout catfish, the whiskerface and over east the Schuylkill catfish. And in the Schuylkill over near Philly is where I've caught ‘em. There is no record available on the average bullhead but they run about a half a pound. Some have! been take up to four pounds.

The flavor of the bullhead is wonderful except when taken in unclean waters. Anytime #bullhead is taken on a lure it is an accident. They go for worms, crawfish, and they are sure fire suckers for stink bait, I've got a recipe for stink bait that is wonderful, but it would turn your stomach if I print it here, If you want the formula drop me a penny postcard and I'll send it to you. » - ~

» = » FORMER Gov. Townsend was up the week and had good luck with the bass. From what T heard the bass are really hitting up there, but the catfish are doing poorly. When the bass are hitting who wants cats anyway.

I got another report that |

Bass Lake is doing great guns, too. n ~ - I'VE GOT to take a line to give a plug to my friend George

Robey. George, the Outdoor "Edi-?

He'll be putting out another one soon. than ever, it will tell

North America. And George knows the spots for he's been there. A guide costs a buck and you can get it by mailing George Robey at Freeport, Ohio. If you're going out of state it's a buck well spent. ” ” ” HERE'S word on the biggest goggle-eye or sunfish that I've run across. I had never heard of any over two pounds, and that's a lot of sunfish. But I hear now that up on the good old Tippecanoe, Mrs. Richard E. Williams of these parts landed one that tipped the scales at two and three-quarter pounds.

She took it on a night crawler.|

It was 16 inches long, and that is a sun fish to beat all. Mrs. Williams has 16 on sun fish, anyone care to try for 32. Let' 8 hear from you,
