WASHINGTON, July 14—President Truman ordered an investigation today to see if personal rights are being infringed by allowing agency chiefs to fire or refuse ‘to hire “poor security risks” for government jobs. The move coincided with a fresh storm in Congress over security and loyalty in the State Department. Two top Republican members of the House Committee on Un-American Activities demanded a new and thoroughgoing probe of the department.
Secretary of State Dean Acheson revealed Friday that several other employees, in addition to two high-ranking experts on Chinese affairs, have been suspended pending investigation of security charges. :
