stinger that makes the Sy swell up considerably. Mr. Testerman, a butcher; unfolded this whopper: . “I was hoeing corn on a steep mountainside in West Virginia when I thought I heard a storm coming. I looked up and saw the noise was made by a giant hoop * snake rolling down the mountain straight at me.
“I didn’t have time to get out of the snake's way, so I turned my back, closed my eyes and stuck out my hoe. As the snake rolled by, it stung that hoe handle. ‘Well, sir, that hoe handle swelled up so big I maaaged to saw enough lumber out of it to build me a five-room house, complete with tile bathroom and everything. “Then I decided to paint the| house, and what happened but the turpentine in the paint made all the swelling go down, All that was left of the house was the tile bathroom, standing alone.” Second prize was taken by the 12-year-old son of one of the concession operators at the fair. The boy's confident manner so impressed Orrie Cotton, 4749 Franklin Road, fourth-place winner and former auctioneer in these parts, that Mr, Cotton said: “If someong had that boy and trained him, he'd make a good auctioneer some day. I'd do it my-

CROSS the country, smokers have been eager to find out which cigarette best agrees with their throats. Like Robert Merrill, famed opera star, now making movies in Hollywood, they've made different mildness tests — quick tests, trick tests — and especially their own 30-day Camel tests. No other cigarette has Camel’s rich, full flavor, pack after pack.’ And no other cigarette has this proof of mildness: In a coast-to-coast test of hundreds of people who smoked only Camels for 30 days, noted throat specialists reported not one single case of throat irritation due to smoking Camels!
