The girl, Hattie Louise Hoggard, told officers Mr. Newsome hired her to sit with his three children while he and his wife went to a movie, She said he attacked her five times. Deputy Sheriff Fred Liverman, who made the arrest, said Mr. Newsome operates a small business in Westchester County, N. Y., and came to North Carolina for a two-week vacation.
