Most every boy and girl can find an area close to home where {they can set up a permanent horseshoe court. With Dad’s help and {a few old 2x4 inch boards, your court can be made almost regula{tion size. Girls, women and little boys should have the stakes placed {about thirty feet apart, while men and older boys should have them forty feet apart. For beginners allow a safety margin of at least {ten feet on each side of the court. | The box frames around the stakés should have six foot square {inside dimensions. They can be made of 2x4 inch or 2x6 inch | material and when nailed together should be set flush with the {ground except at the front where they should be one inch above the |gfound as shown. The stake should be from 8 to 12 inches above the court and in the ’exact center of the frame. Slant each stake toward the |other stake and ask Dad to play “barnyard” golf, or look up the {}i regulation rules in a game book.
