Fishing Spots Relax, you old pros at the fishing game. Don't get your dander up because we missed your favorite spot on our map.

We know, as you do, that there are hundreds more fine places to dip the line around Central | Indiana. This map is for beginners. So, you fledgling fisher-. men, gather ‘round and let's talk about selecting a spot to fish. First off, remember that where there is water, you can have fun fishing. Look along the White River any day and you'll see folks in quest of the elusive finny. And they catch ‘em there, too. Our map above is a guide for

you. Take your cane pole, your can of worms, a case of beer, if you choose, and take off. All the fun in fishing isn't the fish you catch. Get out in the sunshine. Get that fresh air. Get out with the wife and kids or the gang from the office. Relax under a cool tree and enjoy yourself. Forget about the war, the high cost of living and the troubles of the times. Our map will lead you to a dozen interesting places where you can do this—and stand a good chance of catching some fish, too. Then, if the fishing bug bites, and you'll know it when it does, you can go off in search of places of your own.

Now you, old-timers at bait and fly, come on back in. If you're running out of places to go, the State Department of Conservation puts out an Official Indiana Lake Guide. You can obtain a copy free by writing to the Fish and Game Division of the Department of Conservation. Also fof the veteran fisherman looking for wider fields to conquer, there are stream and lake maps available. Getting outdoors is great recreation and Indiana offers a multitude of wonders in the outdoors. If nothing else, fishing offers a good excuse to take advantage of them.
