Vernon Louis ‘Scott, retired railroad conductor, diea this morning at his home, 318 8. Wal-
cott St. He was 60. Mr. Scott, son of the late Louis Scott, Indianapolis policeman,
served the Columbus Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad for years, retiring in 1948. He had been ill three weeks of a heart ailment. ! He came here in boyhood from | Mooresville, where he was born. | Mr. Scott belonged. to Calvary Evangelical United Brethren Church, Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p. m. from that church, with burial In West Newton Cemetery. Mr. Baudendistel belonged to Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and Moose Lodge. He had served as Democratic committeeman for the 16th precinet., 10th ward. Hopes of restoring local bus transportation soon to three Hoo- /™ sier cities today were dashed as State Labor Commissioner Thomas Hutson said he would call no more negotiating sessions. The last of a series of meetings — held yesterday in Muncie — |, again failed to bring a settlement. Mr. Hutson said he would not take any further action until Indiana Railroad or the striking bus drivers union formally asked for another conference. Bus serviee in Anderson, Muncie and Richmond has been halted for weeks by the demands of the drivers for pay boosts.
