STIL EDGES Several months ago someone sent a little face bag filled with cedar shavings to me and in some way or other I lost the accompanying letter. Anyway, I think that it is such a good idea that it is appearing in TRY IT. This cedar bag is to hang in your closet to help keep the moths away and to give your clothes a nice woodsy odor. The cedar shavings can be found at your local mill, or you can use the shavings from a pencil sharpener. Make a bag from two 6-inch circles by stitching very closely around the edges until you are ready to close the top, then fill with cedar sawdust or shavings and sew closed. Add a plastic or small brass ring for hanging, and the bag is ready for use. If you want to make a face on the bag, which is not really necessary, add black button eyes on a white background and a red button mouth. Stitch the nose and around the eyes to complete the mask. TOMORROW—A “Sprinkling Can” for Mother.
