Sewers continue to be a top, {problem for the city. { University Heights’ main sew-| jer, started early last year, is nearing completion. Local sewers: {there, however, are not yet on| lthe drafting boards. Reason is that the city engi-| neer's office is limping along with a shortage of personnel. ! A sewer in 37th St, a main| storm and sanitary relief project, {may be held up until next year! {because of a shortage of draftsmen. This is a vital project to [residents along 38th St. where ‘storm drainage is posing a major| {threat. Not affected by the personnel| {shortage are projects for the East |and West Sides. These have been| {“farmed out” to private ame {ing companies, Mayor Bayt has suggested that| 'the 37th St. project also be given| to a private firm if the man, {shortage cannot be solved.
