One youth was in jail and a second hospitalized with a gumshot wound in the head today following a wild chase through city streets last night by two

OArs. Salvatore Ray, 17, of 835 8. Noble St., was creased on the scalp by a police bullet. . He and Mike Nevarra, 21. of 717 Greer St. driver, were held on vagrancy charges. Nevarra also was charged with reckiess driving. Police sald they had been drinking. Three other youths in the car were released. The youths poured a can of beer over the car of an off-duty policeman, William L. Gorton, at Oriental and E. Michigan Sts. where both cars were stopped for a traffic signal. |
