Firestone’s New Tire Keeps Pace With High Speed, Safety at ‘500’
By FRANK ANDERSON
Speeds are rising in the “500.” So is tire safety and
performance.
Firestone has developed a new racing “doughnut” that's the talk of the pit wall. It’s a tire that handles easier, takes some of the “drift” out of turns, increases treadwear life. Last year's winner, Johnny Parsons, averaged 124.002
mph. The new tire's backers|———————
