In black and white AFTER umpteen setbacks, ‘Soldiers Three” and ‘Inside Straight” are finally slated for Loew's Thursday. The double bill has been announced on two previous occasions. “Soldiers Three” stars Stewart Granger, Walter Pidgeon and David Niven, and is based on some of Rudyard Kipling's stories. Action takes place in In|dia before the turn of the cen-

Other half of the bill, “Inside Straight,” has David Brian and Arlene Dahl heading a cast which inchides Mercedes McCambridge. Story is set in San Francisco in the days when it was the “Gold Coast” of America. | Brian is a power-mad millionaire, who has female and financial troubles, (Are there any other kind?)

Good Boy
In black and white “MR. UNIVERSE” is the name given to a handsome wrestler, Jack Carson and Bert Lahr are his trainers. Only trouble with the wrestler is that he is good. Every time he gets in the ring, he takes his opponent for two quick falls. This eliminates all the grunting and groaning the fans pay to see. It also raises hob with the video stations televising the match. (Did you ever stop to think how wonderful it is that the wrestling matches on video always seem to come to a decisive end just when the station time runs out?) Universe's terrific ability soon has him almost out of business until Carson and Lahr conspire to slow him down. Janis Paige is the girl in the show.

RETURNING—Gloria Swanson and Bette Davis, stars of two of last year's best films, will be on a double bill when those films, "Sunset Boulevard" and "All About Eve," are brought to the Esquire Theater Friday.
In a showdown, Joan threatens to expose Young as the man she stayed out all night with, unless he consents to show the film. Bending to her will, Young defies St. John and orders the film shown. Joan realizes that Young is weak and can be deterred from his purpose by anyone. She turns from him in disgust and flees to the arms of Lovejoy, a more uncouth, but dependable, man.
