Drastic Changes Hinted in Europe Arms Program

STONEMAN PARIS, May 18 (CDN)—Amerfcan officials in Europe have sharply revised their original ideas about the capacity of Europe to rearm itself and now in-| dicate privately that the ~pro-| grams sketched last summer may have to be revamped radically. WASHINGTON, May 18 (UP) —Actor Jean Hersholt “turned

over to the Library of Congress today a catalogue of the $75,000 collection of Hans Christian An-

derson writings that he has willed to the United States. | The Hollywood and radio actor, a native of Denmark, said he; willed the collection to the government “out of gratefulness to the United States.” “The United States,” he said, ‘has been extremely geod to Mrs. | Hersholt and me.” Mr. Hersholt’'s is the largest private collection of Anderson writings in the world. The catalogue covers 500 items.
