Rite Performed in Sweeney Chapel

Christian Church officiated at the marriage of Miss Joan Herrin and John N..Hancock yesterday in Sweeney Chapel at Butler University. The 4 p. m. ceremony was read before an altar banked with palms and white flowers. ‘ The couple's. parents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy 8. Herrin Sr., 6040 Carrollton Ave, and Mr. 4nd Mrs. Guy Hancock, . Plainfield. Wearing blue starched chiffon Mrs. Robert F. Chapman was matron “of honor. As bridesmaids, the bride chose Miss Gretchen Graves, Miss Jessie Mae Brayton and Miss Alice Rose Moore of Martinsville. Junior bridesmaids and flowergirl were Nancy Sue, Martha Ellen and Mary Lynn Herrin.

Rodrick Davis attended the bridegroom as best man. His ushers were Stuart Hancock, Plainfield; Thomas Osborne, Thomas S. Herrin, Marvin Chapman and Richard Hancock. In a gown of white satin, the bride was given in marriage by her father. Her gown was fashioned with a fitted bodice accented with Chantilly lace. Her long sleeves extended into bridal points and the bouffant skirt formed a long train. Her fingertip veil fell from a lace Jullet cap. She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies. :
Reception Held
Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority house. The bride, a member of the sorority, is a junior at Butler University. The bridegroom attended Butler University and is a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Following the reception, the couple left for a short trip through Ohio and Kentucky.

Miss Betty Jean Carlstedt and Robert Emerson Hardin were married yester_day in a 2:30 p. m. ceremony in Christ Episcopal Church. The Rev. Frederick Williams read the vows. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Dwight O. Carlstedt, 1314 Burdsal Pkwy. and Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Hardin of Florence. For her matron of honor the bride chose her sister, Mrs. Raymond E. Wolf. She wore a frock of orchid organdy and carried a daisy bouquet. Wearing pale green organdy, the bridesmaids were Mrs. James E. Thixton and Miss Sueanne Carlstedt. Flowergirl was Janet Clodfelter.
Reception Held
Attending the bridegroom as best man was Howard Pipher of Gary. Ushers were Ernest Michelis and Joseph Newsom. The bride wore a gown of white organdy with an embroidered organdy bodice and cathedral train. Her fingertip veil fell from a tiara of orange blossoms. She carried a white prayerbook topped with a white orchid. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the parish house. After a short wedding trip east, the couple will return to Hanover College where the bridegroom is a student. The bride also attended Hanover College. The bridegroom, who will be graduated in June, is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. :

Bridesmaids in pink, yellow and blue were Mrs. Ralph J. Jansen, Miss Ann McNulty and Miss Dorothy Wuensch. Mary Wuensch was junior bridesmaid.
Attending the bridegroom as best man was his brother, Charles Wuensch. The ushers were William Michaelis, Rob‘ert Armbruster and Ronald Wuensch. A reception was held last night in the home of the bride's parents. After a wedding trip to Florida the couple will live at 1506 S. East St.
