Bicknell Native Cited in Korea

A Bronze Star has been awarded a former Hoosier, M/Sgt. Russell A. Bowers, who marched 185 prisoners through enemy fire and hazardous weather in Korea The 36-year-old Marine also holds ‘the Purple. Heart for wounds suffered in the Chosin Reservoir fighting. A native of Bicknell, he joined the Marine Corps there in 1934. Five other sons of Mrs. Lillie Jowers, 244 N.
