OLD STRAW It is not only time for May Day which is celebrated on May 1 in many places, but it is the beginning of the straw hat season. Now, when your family looks over their last season's straw hats, they may decide that they need a new one for this year. “straws” need not be thrown away, they can be turned into attractive flower baskets to decorate during the May Day festival. | May Day is celebrated by dancing, the choosing of a King and |° Queen of the May, and by gathering spring flowers. When flowers are gathered, display them in these straw-hat baskets. Tack them jon the wall, hang them by ribbons, or use them as a “bowl.” The best plan is to get the hat ready and then pick the flowers Place a bottle or jar down in the hat to hold Dad's old sailor straw can be placed in the center of the J table and filled with fresh flowers or tiny potted plants which {can later be set out in the garden.
