Armed Forces Day Chairmen Named

National Defense

Week, May 14-19

Committee chairmen for National Defense Week, May 14-19, and Armed Forces Day, May 19, have been appointed to assist Lt.| Col. Ben K. Armstrong, USAF, local project officer, and Col. James A. Wilson, chairman of the week's activities for the Indianapolis Reserve ‘Officers’ Association. They are:

Expect Trial To Wind Up Today

The trial of a cab driver charged with encouraging a 15-year-old girl to have relations with men in his taxi, is expected to end this afternoon in Juvenile Court. i

His wife also testified he was home except when working. ‘

IU to Mark 131 Years With Rites Wednesday |

Times State Service BLOOMINGTON, Apr. 27 “pown Through the Years—Historical Highlights of IU” a] dramatization of Indiana University’s 131 years, will be featured, in the Annual Founders’ Day convocation at 10 a. m. Wednesday. Among events of the day will! be the annual pilgrimage to the grave of the first IU president, Andrew Wylie; and the deans’ reception for honor students and their parents. i The 40-minute pageant was written and directed by Gary, Gaiser, of the speech department, and will be acted out by 40 cos-| tumed students. Donald Glancy, Westville, will be narrator.

Shortridge Key Club To Sponsor Barn Dance

The Key Club of Shortridge High School will hold a barn, dance tomorrow at 8 p. m. in the] Shortridge gymnasium. Dancers will be attired in blue jeans, peasant blouses and skirts, Mrs. Norma Koster, accom-| panied by a fiddler and a pianist, | will do the calling. Mark Peter-| man is general chairman.
