Distributive Education I discusses means of applying for a job, locating and caring for stock, cashiering and wrapping, approaching, knowing, and serving the customer, stockmarking, demonstrating merchandise and meeting sales resistance. ¢ Stresses Principles In Distributive Education II, emphasis is placed on the basic principles of retailing and merchandising. This course presents an understanding of the needs, problems and requirements of all types of stores. Classes are for double periods. Class attendance gives one credit with assecond credit earned by the pupil for job experience carried on simultaneously with the classwork. A minimum of 15 hours work each week is required to earn this credit. All but two of the 29 pupils at Broad Ripple are now employed in approved jobs. Work is supervised by the school co-ordinator as well as by the
