Mr. Holcomb, a descendant of Joseph Hanks, grandfather of Abraham Lincoln, died Sunday. ~ He was 77. ; After he received his education at the former Central Normal College in Danville, he taught school for eight years and was admitted to the bar in 1897. Mr. Holcomb served in the leg-| Islature as joint representative in|
years he had practiced law in Greensburg, He served four terms as prosecuting attorney here and was mayor from 1939 to 1943. Active in ‘civic affairs, Mr. Holcomb was affiliated with five Masonic bodies here, was a 50-year member of the Greensburg Knights of Pythias Lodge and belonged to the Westport Ps Fellows Lodge. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, a| daughter, two brothers and two, sisters,
