Dies in His Home Here at 64

Eugene C. Miller, prominet Indianapolis attorney, died yesterday at his home, 1321 N. Meridian
St., after a long illness. He was 64. Born in Rushville, Mr. Miller graduated from Rushville High School, Indiana ' University and
Harvard Law School. He entered law practice here in 1912 with the firm of Denny and Denny. Mr. Miller served in World War I as an artillery captain. ‘ He had his own. practice for many vears. budsfat the time of his death was associated with Edward Fillion, Arthur Northup and Donald Rean.
He was a member of the Indianapolis, Indiana and American Bar Associations. Active in civic affairs, Mr. Mi!ller was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Indianapnlis Foundation and English Foundation He was a director of Schwitzer-Cummins Co. and Tanner & Co. He also was a member of the University Club, Dramatic Club American Legion, Athanaeum and Central Christian. Church Surviving are his

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Henrietta Riegger, Indianapolis; a brother, Elijah Elmore. Terre Haute: two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Services for Carl Fisher. who died vesterdav in the General Hospital, will be at 10 a. m. inmorrow in the Harry W. Moore Peace Chapel. Burial will be in Crown Land Cemetery. Noolesville. Mr. Fisher who was 75. lived at 202 N. New Jersev St. A native of Frankfort. he had been a resident of Indianapolis 55 years. He retired a few vears ago after 55 vears as a bricklayer and was a member of Bricklayers Union 3. Sole immediate survivor is a brother. Samuel! A. Fisher, Indianapolis.
Ussie Durham Services for Ussie Durham, who was found dead Monday in his home, 653 N. Blackford St., will be at 10 a. m. Saturday in C. M. C. Willis & Son Mortuary. Burial wlil be in New Crown. He was 67. Survivors include a son, Jacque, former Indianapolis policeman, and a grandchild.

Mrs. Minnie Whitney
Mrs. Minnie Whitney. who lived here from 1901 to 1950, died Monday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lucille Reed. in St. Louis where she had moved last vear. She was 73 Born ‘in Corydon. she was a member of the Bethel AME Church here for 40 years and the Household of Ruth Lodge. Her daughter is the only immediate survivor.

To Prevent Hardships WASHINGTON, Apr. 12 (UP) Selective Service officials said today that draft inductions planned for May "were temporarily halted hardships while the Army makes up its mind on its needs. Defense officials originally had planned to call in 60,000 men in May. They haye not ' said whether they still many. April inductions were cut from 80,000 to 40,000.
