It is said the management is trying to land a shortstop out of the Cleveland farm system through the influence of Al Lopez. - the managerial magician who guided the Hoosier Redskins through three successful seasons. When Lopez left the Indianapolis team to take over at Cleveland ‘it was stated that the big league club would do its best to give Indianapolis a player at a later date as a gesture of good will. This is a most opportune time for Cleveland to deliver. If St. Paul Gets Help, Saints Might Keep Foes Hopping
By United Press BT. PAUL, Apr. 11—The St. Paul Saints may not be the toughest outfit in the American Association this year but if they can get some
help from the Brooklyn Dodgers Manager Clay Hopper isn't squad, but he isn’t too pessimistic prize catcher from the Dodgers, siderably. Teed has looked good behind the plate'and he also knows what to do when he's

MEL JONES, general manager of the Saints, said Teed looks as good as anybody on the team. “Everyone in the Dodger system has been impressed with the

getting him.” Jones and Hopper both figure that Teed can do a lot toward solving the problem of power hitters. “He gives us another right handed batter who can alm at that short right field fence in Lexington Park, and that's what we're going to need to break up ball games,” Hopper said. The Saints pitching has looked fairly good in exhibition games so far. They could use some strength in the mound department but there is some hope the Dodgers will come through.
n n n MARION Fricano, up from Mobile of the Southern Association where he had a 15-1 record last vear, is a welcome addition to the mound staff. Hopper figures Fricano is ready to make the jum to erican Association ball an he: fhould be a real help if he comes through as expected,

Another new addition to the Saints’ roster in Bill Antonello. An outfielder, he came up from Montreal where he piled up a .276 average last year. Hailed as a strong defensive man in the field, he'll solve a lot of -the Saints’ problems if he makes the grade. The Saints can't definitely be considered a title threat this soon in the year. The Dodgers haven't got their roster set yet, and until they do, the St. Paul slate will stay pretty much up in the air. But here's something to put down In your books. If the parent club comes through with just a couple of men that the Saints are asking for. they could >be the darkhorse of the league battle this year. °
