Sane Spring Showing of Weathervane Suits Ga i!

N. Y. Models to Be “At Ayres’ Tomorrow

By LOUISE FLETCHER

Times Woman's Editor OT “ROLL,” but “mix” your own ‘will be the idea tomorrow when Ayres’ stages its ‘spring showing of Weathervane suits . . . those wringle-resisting numbers that see their wearers through the

summer months so well. (No6t just summer months, either.)

Six New York models will be here for the 12:15 and 2:30 p. m. Fashion Caravans in the thirdfloor Suit Shop. This year's Weathervanes put the emphasis on small, high revers, softly fitted waistlines and gently rounded hiplines. New note is the appearance of checks in the Celanese Weathervane fabrics. These add interest to the ‘mix ‘em for wardrobe variety” theme. One checked suit plus one white suit, for example, add up to “four” suits when their component parts are shifted around. Plain colors in the Weathervanes may be “scrambled,” too. Plain tones include tobacco brown, bud pink, ocean sand, pearl white, pure white, beige, stem green, mauve, aqua, yellow and coral. n on o ROMANCE takes over at Block's late this afternoon. The . store's spring bridal fashion show will be at 5:30 o'clock in the Auditorium. Some of the newer fashion notes to be sounded are colorwashed fabrics in bridal gowns . and the ankle-length bridal dress. in a “ballerina bride's” costume

ered with. white, its anklelength skirt dipping at the left and the line balanced by a pink satin sash-tie at the right. The bride in the army-post chapel finale of the show also wears a tinted gown -- mauve tulle done in. wide chevron tucks all over bodice and skirt. Her attendants are wearing marquiset in apple -green (that's the maid of honor) gandy in green, pink, blue and yellow. Opening of the show is a garden wedding with the bride wearing ‘ white organdy which has shell pink swiss embroidery flounceés forming an apron overskirt effect. For a “Bird of Paradise”

. wedding, both bride and attend-

ants wear white embroidered organdy. Satin and lace and tulle and organdy gowns range all through the show. Bridal outfits are included for brides on a budget as well as those with purse strings long enough to stretch from here to yon.
