17 Now in Field For ‘300° Classic
3 California Drivers
Announce Entries
The field for this year's 500mile race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway May 30 was boosted | to 17 today as three veteran California drivers were added. They are Mack Hellings ‘and Manuel Ayulo, both of Burbank, Cal, and Fred Agabashian of Albany, Cal. This will be the fifth race for Agabashian, the, fourth for Hellings and the sec-| ond for Ayulo. Agabashian will wheel the Granatelll Racing Enterprises Special. Hellings will pilot the new front-drive Tuffanelll and Derrico Special and Ayulo will be in the cockpit of the Coast Grain Special, entered by Bob Weinberg of Downey, Cal. At the same time, track officials announced arrival of the first car at the track's Gasoline Alley. It is the Wynn Friction Proofing Special, which will be “driven by 1950 winner, Johnny Parsons.
