Elmer E. Hicks, father of Ralph Emerson Hicks, member of the

retailing advertising department of Indianapolis Newspapers, Inc.

died yesterday in his home in Franklin. He was 72, \ A lifelong resident of Franklin, Mr. Hicks had been in the real estate business there 15 years, He

formerly was employed in the’

sales department of Polk Sanitary Milk Co. of Indianapolis, _ Mr. Hicks was a member of the Baptist Church of Franklin and sang for years in the church choir. He was also 3 member of I0O0F, : ’ Services will be held at 3:30 p. m. tomorrow in the Vandiver Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Johnson County.

Mr. Offutt, who was 58, died Tuesday in Cold Spring Road Veterans Administration Hospital. He was 58 and lived at 2215 Pleasant St. Born in Auburn, Ky., Mr. Offutt, had been a resident of Indianapolis 30 years. Employed with! the Johnny Harmon Market, South Side, he was a member of the Allen Chapel AME Church. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Annie Lue Viears, Aubfirn, and three . brothers, Will and Moses Offutt, Indianapolis, and George Offutt, Auburn.

Miss "Alice I. Forsyth, formerly of 1014 Fletcher Ave., died here yesterday. She was a former school teacher and. the sister of the late William Forsyth, Indiana artist.

Forsyth attended old Shortridge High School and the old Indianapolis Normal College. She treveled extensively through the United States, Canada and Europe, She was 56, Services will be held at 4 p. m. tomorrow in Flanner and Buchanan Mortuary.
