” = » New Heights APPROPRIATE for the Easter season is “I'd Climb the Highest Mountain,” a fine study in faith, all wrapped up in a heartwarming story. Near the turn of the century ‘William Lundigan takes his bride Susan Hayward into the back country of Georgia where he has been assigned as the circuit minister. . Immediately he is beset by the problems and tragedies of the town, all of which he expects to be solved by his infinite faith land trust in God. This almostblind faith leads him astray until Susan forcibly points out that much of the power of God is E sometimes lost if the proper hu- ¥ man tools aren't available with

More Maugham RECENTLY, American . audiences were pleased with a British (film titled “Quartet,” which combined four. W. Somerset Maugham short stories into one film. Each of the stories separate from the other. Now the British have done it again. This time with three short stories and the title, naturally, “Trio.” In the first story, “The Verger,” James Hayter is an illiterate verger (we call them sextons over here) who has.served his church faithfully for years. But when the new vicar assigned to the church learns that -he can neither read nor write, Hayter is immediately ‘discharged. Feeling totally inadequate, Hayter leaves the church and uses his life's savings to open a small tobacco shop, through which he becomes wealthly. Ironically, he besomes one of the church's staunchest patrons.

HOLLYWOOD is now hitting its stride in the output of Korean War films, with “Korean Patrol” slated to be doubled with “Rogue River’ -at the Lyric. “Patrol” recounts the struggle by several United Nations soldiers to blow up a Red bridge. “Rogue River's” greatest asset is Ellye Marshall, Marie Wilson's old stand-in, who appears to be better endowed than Marie. Of Handling Film Crowds

In his latest ;Columbia ‘picture, “The Brave Bulls,” he expands his technique of putting 2000 people together and letting things take their course. “I try to use real people in real life settings,” Rossen explained. “I explain the action to them. ROSSEN TOLD only the three actors what it was all about. He hired police and soldiers to hold the mob back but even they didn’t know the score. “We had six cameras trained on the scene,” he said. “There they were—2000 sweating, shoving people packed between 50-foot walls of concrete, and nothing seemed to give. We stopped the action before anyone got hurt, but imagine [trying to rehearse that!”
