immediate foreign policy dedi. cated to beating “Communist ime perialism” without a world war, and a long-range one of independence to Russian saf$llites.

In an address here last night, the former candidate for the Republican presidential nominas ’ tion’ urged that the immediate problem be handled by a new agency headed by “an able man, especially qualified” named" the President and confirmed the Senate. “It should not be under the State Department,” Stassen said. “The Voice of America should be taken out of the State Depart. ment and be made one part of the new program and s itself be changed to a vigoroul championship of freedom and human rights everywhere.” %
