Thrills Await a

Trip to Capital Among Prizes

An unforgettable week in Washington, D. C. and the honor of competing in the National Spelling Bee are among the exciting {prizes in store for the winner of fithe annual Times Spelling Bee. The local spelling champion will [receive a 24-volumn set of Encycllopaedia Britannica for himself, and the free access of one Encyclopaedia Britannica film a month for the 1951-52 academic year for his (or her) school. In addition, the top winner wi roam a Gold Champion's Pin and a gold wrist watch. | Runner-up in the local finals will be awarded a fountain pen and pencil set, and a silver pin. Third, fourth and fifth place winpers also will receive fountain pen and pencil sets and Spelling Bee pins. The 20 finalists will receive finalists pins. Pins also go to the {winners in each center or district or township. $500 In Cash At Washington, the Indianapolis champion—who could be a pupil from a county school—has an opportunity to win as much as $500 in cash plus a week-end trip to New York.. The Indianapolis champion will win at least $40 for participation in the national contest. Any pupil of a public; private, parochial or county school in Marion Coufity will be eligible to take part in the Bee as long as he or she will not be 16 years of age
