Sullivan has applied for a patent candles to be raised and lowered] Rydraulically. . | At Holy Cross Church, the! acolyte presses a button and the gradine goes down. It’s that part| of the altar on which the candlegticks etand. Only the tops of the | candles show above the surface! of the altar after it is lowered. From there, they shed their beams adding great beauty to Catholic services. No more knocking over of candles by well-meaning acolytes. No more spilling of grease on snowy altar cloths, And no more acolytes’ sleeves ripped’ from their moorings. Atleast these things no longer happen in the Holy Cross

The robbers entered two at a time—the first ones wearing masks—and covered night manager George Winkley, 47, of 5142 Chelsea Rd., and bell boy Vernon Hembrick, 16, of 5046 W. Caven- 8t. The two were forced by the robbers to lie face down on the floor of a back room while the hold-up men escaped. A bakery truck driver who was about to deliver bread to the camp summoned deputy sheriffs. He called and reported the holdup in progress, but deputies were too late to catch the men. The same place was held up about a year ago by two men who were caught later by state police. They aré 4%&’ in prison|. for the stick-up. rder
