this epistle gives a detailed outline of the equipment every Christian must have if he is to stand against the wiles of the devil. Being born again is one thing and being’ equipped for Christian - service is another. ; The Apostle chose to call this equipment the armor of God. Put on the whole armor of God. In other words, make a full preparation for divine service, whatever the cost. The larger preparation we make for divine service, the less preparation we will have to make for military service, Men are made brothers by
grace and not by machine guns. Where there isn't love enough to make peace and good will toward men, there will be hatred enough engendered to make war among them.
Nothing less than the whole | armor can prepare the Christian |
for this service. ‘
In the text, there are named six pieces of equipment for the Christian's protection — the girdle of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet shod with the preparation of the gospel, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God.
This “Sermon of ‘the Week” was written for The Times by

not in himeelf.. We are, therefore; admonished to stand in the strength of His might, not ours. Weak Christians are more detrimental to the plan of Christ for the salvation of the world than they are ‘beneficial. No one but Satan himself can use .a weak Christian successfully. “Tr the Book of Revelation, Chapter Three, you will find
. Christ's message to the. weak
Christian Church of Laodicea: “Because thou art lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I will spue you out of my mouth”. Christ's attitude toward weak Christians today is unchanged. He cannot use them, for they
cannot and will not stand |,
against the wiles of the devil.
