Cage Fix Attempt Reaches Into High School Play

BANGOR, Me., Feb. 22 (UP)— An alleged attempt to “fix” a Bangor high school basketball game was investigated by police today. Chief John B. Toole said last Friday an anonymous telephone] caller had asked Bangor Guard Gary Burke “would you like to make some money on the Waterville game.” The caller told Burke to meet him at a designated place “where we can talk it over.” = = » CHIEF Toole said the youth did not keep the appointment, but immediately reported the call to his coach Frederick Barry.
