By RICHMOND BARTLETT | Stalking Red guerrillas in the, Korean mountain wilds is an Indiana captain in command of a 30-man anti-guerrilla team, Capt. Robert L. Rice of Evansville and his “Rice’s Raiders” rely! on the guerrilla’s own methods | speed, surprise, terror and stealth. Members of the 7th Infantry Divigion, these brave men risk death! at every pass as they hunt out the enemy in his own stronghold. They leave the safety of their areas as the sun begins its descent behind the snowclad hills, They are lightly armed, lightly clothed and for food each man carries but a single can of rations.

Mistakes Are Fatal | They march on cat-like feet, often as far as 20 miles, to bait and spring thelr snare, They make no mistakes, for mistakes pay oft in death. The enemy, too, is skilled in ambush, and he sometimes baits the trap. Each American guerrilla regards himself the equal of 10 of the enemy. Five men often prepare for the execution of 50 Reds in a mountain pass ambush, “Rice’s Raiders” have become a fighting force known only to members and to a few South Korean helpers. Several attempts have been made on the life of the leader, Capt. Rice shot one Red guerrilla when awakened to find him standing\ln the entrance of his tent. N South Korean collaborators risk their lives at the hands of both friend and foe, since their identity is unknown to the Unitsd Nations forces.
