Capt. Carl Reese Awarded |

Bronze Star in Korea

CAPT, CARL REESE, son of Mrs. Maude F. Reese, Huntingburg, has been awarded the Bronze Star while serving with the United States Air Force in Korea. The award was made by Maj. Gen. Earl E. Partridge, commanding general of the Fifth Air Force at South Dogpatch Air Base in Korea. Capt. Reese is chief supply officer for the 18th Fighter Bomber Wing of the 5th Air Force. The citation accompanying the medal said that he had “distinguished himself through outstanding servfce in the organization, supervislon and direction of all supply activities necessary to complete the effectiveness of the wing.”

Capt. Reese's wing has completed more than 6000 sorties against the enemy in support of American ground troops.
