Brazil, Terre Haute Highs in 1-Point Wins

By United Press The unheralded Indiana high

school basketball teams proved today they could rise to the occasion and provide fans with thrills in a night of spotty play E

action.

Brazil and Terre “Haute Garfield kept their. followers on the edge of their seats as both won one-point victories,

It wasn't until the final seven seconds that Brazil was sure of its 31 to 30 win over Greencastle. The winners trailed out and were tied at 30-all with seven seconds to go when Brazil's Tom Miller made good a free throw. Garfield defeated Otter Creek, 32 to 38, sewing up the game in the final seconds on a shot by Fred Blade. Other action saw South Bend Central win from Hammond Tech, 55 to 50. Winslow's wellregarded Eskimos plastered an-

beating Owensville, 68 to 27.
