Meanwhile, Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors is calling ' 10,000 dealer service men to study the 1951 Hydra-Matic transmission and its servicing. The training pmsogram will be conducted in 600 schools by 33 factory trained service directors assigned by Pontiac's 25 zone offices. This school comes about from the improvement in the HydraMatic shift for 1951, which permits the driver to shift directly into reverse without bringing the car to a complete stop. And, of course, the driver can “rock” the cat to get it out of the mud, snow or sand.
